In June, New Leaf Supports were fortunate to be the recipient of a $1,200.00 grant from ParticipACTION, which enabled us to participate in the Community Challenge and enhance our daily programming with more sports and fitness activities. We organized a memorable Sports Day where individuals had the chance to socialize and participate in various activities, including soccer, basketball, and volleyball.
Incorporating fitness and sports into our daily routines not only ensures that individuals have fun, but also promotes several important benefits:
- Physical Fitness: Engaging in sports helps improve cardiovascular health, muscle strength, flexibility, and overall endurance.
- Teamwork and Collaboration: Sports teach individuals how to collaborate towards common goals, enhancing social skills and fostering strong interpersonal relationships. It also teaches the values of fair competition, respect for opponents, and gracious acceptance of outcomes.
